Designed to Disappear
Created to showcase Microsoft's latest Surface devices, this project focused on highlighting the products through a refined combination of product visualisation, motion design, and minimalist storytelling.
The challenge was knowing when not to over-design. Surface products are built around simplicity, precision, and elegant engineering, so the animation needed to reflect those same qualities. Every movement, transition, and camera angle was designed to draw attention to the product without distracting from it.
Process and Outcome
The challenge wasn't creating excitement through flashy animation, it was creating confidence through simplicity.
Every shot was designed to highlight a particular aspect of the product, whether that was the slim profile of the Surface Pen, the flexibility of the kickstand, or the tactile quality of the keyboard. Careful lighting and subtle motion helped reveal these details without ever pulling focus away from the device itself.
The result is a product showcase that feels calm, premium, and considered, reflecting the same design philosophy that defines the Surface range.
