What Does Studio Popty Do?
We’re a small creative team specialising in motion design and CGI. We bring ideas to life through bold, beautiful animation; from quick social loops to large-scale anamorphic billboards, documentary graphics, and immersive content for VR.
From the first doodle to the final frame, we’re hands-on with every stage of production, blending craft, storytelling, and a touch of personality in everything we make.
Who Do You Work With?
We work with agencies, production companies, and direct clients of all shapes and sizes, from start-ups with big ideas to global names like Netflix, the BBC, and Microsoft.
Between us, we’ve been creating motion design and animation for over 20 years, producing everything from brand films and broadcast graphics to social campaigns and documentary design. Whether we’re leading a project or joining a creative team, we bring the same care, craft, and curiosity to every brief.
Where Are you Based? Do you Work Internationally?
We’re based in Abergavenny, Wales, a creative corner of the world close to the Cardiff and Bristol design hubs. We’ve worked with clients across the UK and around the world, and most projects happen remotely.
We’re fully set up for smooth collaboration, no matter the time zone, with easy communication and a flexible workflow. And if you’d rather meet in person, we’re always up for a cuppa too.
How Much Does it Cost?
Projects typically start from around £3,500, but every brief is different. If you’re unsure, just get in touch and we’ll happily chat about what’s possible within your range.

What’s Your Process Like?
Every project starts with a conversation about your goals, audience, and creative vision. From there, we shape ideas, build style frames or storyboards, and refine the look and tone before moving into animation.
Once production begins, we keep things fluid and collaborative with regular check-ins and previews. From first sketch to final frame, we focus on craft, clarity, and a process that feels as creative as the work itself.
Do you collaborate with other studios or freelancers?
Yes, absolutely. Collaboration is a big part of how we work. Studio Popty partners with agencies, studios, and independent artists to bring together the right mix of skills for each project. Depending on the brief, we might work as a full boutique studio or individually under the Popty name, slotting into existing teams or leading the creative ourselves. However the setup, you’ll always get the same level of care, craft, and communication that defines our work.
How Long Does A Project Take?
It depends on the complexity, but as a guide we tailor timelines to each project, from quick-turnaround socials to more detailed 3D and CGI work.
Short 2D or 3D pieces: 2–4 weeks
Complex 3D/CGI projects: 6–10 weeks

Why The Name “Popty”?
“Popty” is the Welsh word for oven, the place where things get baked. It felt right for us: we take the raw ingredients of ideas, visuals, sound, and story, then bake them into something fresh, bold, and made to pop off the screen. It’s also a subtle nod to our Welsh roots, where Studio Popty came to life.
